Random Facts about me.


  • I've been happily married for over 30 years... yes, to the same woman.  We have two daughters and one grandson.
  • I was born in Bogota, Colombia.
  • I'm a Bicentenial American Citizen.  Obtained my citizenship in 1976
  • My first car, which I bought in 1972, was a 1960 Ford Fairlane.  Paid $100 for it.  It's color was "rust".  Not the color rust, it was actually all rusted.  Sold it two years later for $125.
  • My second car, which I bought to replace the one above, was a 1967 Ford Mustang convertible.  Bought it for $600 and sold it six months later, for the same $600.  Wish I'd known it would become a classic.
  • I have had a job every day of my life since I was the age of 11.  (Back in the day, when the newspaper used to be delivered by paper boys... I was one of them)
  • I was a couch potato until the age of 52.
  • I am an Ironman Finisher.
  • I am a Marathon Finisher.
  • Even though I lived for 12 years in Michigan, I hate cold weather.
  • People say I am a physical carbon copy of my dad.  People say my daughter is a female carbon copy of me.
  • I don't drink alcohol.  Not because I have a problem, nor because I have something against it, just because, well because I hate the headache next morning.
  • I've always wanted to own my own business.  At the age of 57, my dream came true.
  • For better or worse, I'm really opinionated, but with an open mind.  Kinda.
  • I'm allergic to everything.  Well, almost everything.  Of 54 allergens I was tested for, 53 were positive.  If its in the air, I can't breathe it.  Makes for an interesting Spring and Fall.
  • I'm deathly allergic to shellfish.
  • I love to write and to speak in public.
  •  I love to teach.
  •  I never (almost never) drive over the speed limit.
  •  I've never liked tattoos.  Now, I have a tattoo.  Thinking about a second one.
  • I am the ultimate optimist.  Cautiously Optimistic is more like it.
  • I don't like the hussle and bussle of big cities, prefer the simple laid back life of smaller towns.
  • In the last twenty five years, I've only had three jobs and lived in two houses.  I've lived in the same town for the past twenty five years.
  • I have never had a traffic ticket in my life.  I've been stopped twice.  Both times for expired tags.  Both times I'd forgotten.  One time it had expired for six months.  Dang, I hope I didn't jinx myself.
